{ABOUT JILLIAN}

I grew up in Fairfield, California, the youngest of three children. I've always loved the outdoors and my hometown created a unique opportunity for me to appreciate all types of environments. Since Fairfield is within two hours each way to the mountains or beach I gained a love for both. This love for the outdoors is probably what led me to my career path as a landscape designer. I have a passion for creating outdoor living spaces for families to enjoy their own piece of paradise. My personal favorite designs are more natural and curvalinear, but I enjoy creating more formal or contemporary designs as well.

I graduated from Brigham Young University, Idaho in July of 2014 with my Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. I have also studied some Architecture and Sustainable Design. A goal in furthuring my education and knowledge is to get LEED and ISA certifications. I participated in PLANET Student Career Days 2013 where we took 1st place as a school. In 2014 my playground design was chosen as a contender in the Come Alive Outside competition and took 2nd place. I then presented it at the Research and Creative Works Conference at BYU-Idaho and took 1st place in my category. In the Summer of 2013 I did my internship with ValleyCrest Landscapes in Delray Beach and Orlando, Florida.

Currently, I work for Davey Resource Group on a large-scale project doing design and consulting work for home owners, cities, businesses and HOA's.

Some of my hobbies include horseback riding, surfing, hiking, camping and sketching. I love to sit outside on a warm day and get inspiration from the nature surrounding me. My husband, Dale, also shares many of my interests and we spend a lot of time together and with our dog. Family is very important to both of us and we love to visit our families as often as possible.
